About Về Việt Nam
The Vietkieu.com podcast was created to serve Vietnamese living abroad who often exist between cultures, languages, and identities. For many members of the Vietnamese diaspora, there is a gap between their lived experiences overseas and how those experiences are understood by audiences in Vietnam. This podcast exists to close that gap through real, personal conversations.
By featuring Vietnamese and Vietkieu guests from different backgrounds, the podcast offers representation, relatability, and validation. Listeners hear stories that reflect their own challenges with belonging, language barriers, cultural expectations, and career or life choices abroad. This creates a sense of connection and reassurance that they are not navigating these experiences alone.
The long form interview format allows for nuance and honesty rather than surface level storytelling. Guests are given space to explain not just what they do, but how they think, feel, and adapt while living between cultures. For Vietnamese audiences in Vietnam, the podcast provides insight into overseas realities beyond stereotypes. For Vietnamese living abroad, it becomes a mirror, a learning space, and often a source of quiet encouragement.
Ultimately, this project contributes to a stronger, more empathetic Vietnamese global community by turning individual journeys into shared understanding.
Not just a host. I designed, led, and delivered the conversations.

01
Guest Research & Editorial Strategy
I conducted in-depth research on each guest, analyzing their background, public presence, and relevance to the Vietnamese diaspora audience. This preparation allowed me to anticipate sensitive areas, identify strong narrative angles, and approach each interview with contextual awareness.
Before recording, I defined a clear takeaway for each episode. This helped structure conversations with purpose, avoid unfocused discussions, and ensure viewers left with a specific insight.
02
Script Development & Interview Design
Interview Script Drafting
I drafted structured interview scripts based on the provided show outline, balancing preparation with flexibility. Each script included opening hooks, thematic transitions, depth questions, and optional follow ups to support a natural yet controlled conversation flow.

03
On Camera Hosting & Interview Execution
I hosted and moderated all recorded episodes, guiding discussions with clarity, empathy, and confidence. My role involved balancing curiosity with professionalism while maintaining pacing and focus throughout each recording.
I worked closely with the in-house production and editing team during recordings, respecting technical constraints while maintaining natural delivery and strong on-camera presence.
04
Post Production Support & Content Packaging
I wrote concise and engaging show notes for each episode, summarizing key discussions and highlighting guest insights. These notes supported content clarity and improved viewer context before watching. I identified high-impact moments suitable for short clips and promotional cuts, helping the team extract engaging highlights for social media and marketing use. After each episode, I reviewed internal feedback and performance observations to improve pacing, depth of questioning, and overall interview quality in subsequent recordings.
