the snail and its shell

somebody knocks the snail’s shell and asks if he wants to go outside and join the gang. seems like they’re doing something fun.

“no thanks”, the snail replies.

after a couple of attempts, nobody ever intends to ask the snail again. they know for sure he’ll deny anyways.

“but why don’t you?”, the wind asks as she passes by, “they’re having so much fun”.

“I'll die if leave my shell”

“you can invite them in then”

“I can’t either”

“why not?”

“there’s no room for another one”

“it must be lonely, being in there all by your own...”

“I’ll get used to it”

“but is it heavy? caring the shell everywhere?”

“yes it is”

“then ask mother Earth to free you from your shell, i’m sure she’ll help”

“i won’t”

“why not?”

“cause I deserve this shell”
